Michelle Tinkler has served on the RAASF Board since 2006. As Marketing & Communications Director, Michelle is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of RAASF's marketing strategies designed to build and promote the RAASF brand. In this capacity, she is responsible for ensuring that all RAASF marketing collateral, signage, print and interactive materials meet RAASF brand standards. In addition, Michelle oversees the creative design, content development and integration of the RAASF website and directs all internal and external communications and public relations activities. Michelle has more than 15 years of marketing, communications and television broadcast production experience. She began her career in television at WNBC-TV in New York where she served as an Associate Producer for the local public affairs show, “Positively Black.” While at WNBC, Michelle co-produced several television segments including specials, “South Africa at the Crossroads,” featuring Nelson Mandela’s historical release from prison. Michelle has worked in various marketing communications roles including, Marketing Coordinator at the University of Bridgeport, Assistant Audio/Visual Production Manager for the Visual Design Group, Managing Editor of the GE Center for Financial Learning (financiallearning.com) and Brand Manager at Genworth Financial. Michelle currently serves as Senior Marketing Manager of Brand Innovation and Sponsorships at Genworth Financial. In this role, she is responsible for the implementation of strategic corporate sponsorship marketing plans to help promote and build the Genworth brand. Michelle attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut where she earned a Bachelor of Arts dual degree in American Studies and Afro American Studies. She also completed studies at La Sorbonne in Paris, France and received her Masters of Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport.
