Kristin Everett

Kristin EverettKristin Everett was ranked 5th in a class of 193 students at Thomas Jefferson High School. With a 4.5 GPA and a member of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, Kristin has received numerous academic awards to include President of the National Honor Society, French National Honor Society, National Beta Club, and officer of the Student Government.

Kristin’s extra-curricular activities include marching band (9-12), tennis team (9- 12), concert choir (11-12), concert band (11-12) and Robotics team (12). Her volunteer activities include working at the Salvation Army Emergency Shelter in Downtown Richmond. Kristin has been an active volunteer at the Salvation Army since going to work with her mother one day while in the 4th grade. Since that day, Kristin has been drawn back to help people less fortunate than herself.

Kristin is described by one of her instructors as a “student with a mature conscience” who “willingly and enthusiastically helps others whenever she can.” Kristin “genuinely loves learning and is a respectful student and volunteer community servant whose talents not only serve herself, but her family, friends and the greater community as well.”

Kristin’s love of helping others has shaped her career choice. Inspired by Dr. Benjamin Carson, renowned for his work as a pediatric neurosurgeon at John Hopkins Hospital, Kristin would like to pursue a career in medicine and work with children that have been victims of cancer.

In the fall, Kristin plans to attend the University of Virginia and major in Biology with a minor in African American Studies. She also aspires to one day own a pediatric practice.
