Jessica David


Jessica DavidJessica David is a 2008 International Baccalaureate graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and was valedictorian of her graduating class.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) Ambassador, Jessica was responsible for leading by example and for promoting the IB Programme to prospective students and parents. One of the creative ways she promoted tie IB Programme was through theater. Jessica wrote and directed a play that depicted life as an IB student. This play has been circulated to all middle schools in the Richmond Public School system.

In addition to excelling academically, Jessica has contributed a great deal of time to improving her community. She served as a Jr. Volunteer at Johnston Willis Hospital assisting sick children and raising money for children's medical research. She has also devoted time to the VA Food Bank Holiday Meals program, YWCA Bright Beginnings tutorial sessions, the Children's Ministry at Faith Alive International Ministries, and the Jamestown 400th Anniversary "Paint the Town" program.

Jessica also participated in a variety of extracurricular activities including Varsity Tennis, Varsity Track and Field, and the Finance Club. SHe has held several leadership positions including President of the National Beta Club, President of the Finance Club, Vice President of the National Spanish Honor Society, and Vice President of the National Honor Society. Jessica is accomplished in the field of music as well, playing the clarinet, saxophone, and trumpet in the Concert and Jazz Bands. She successfully led her high school marching band as Drum Major.

Jessica will be attending Duke University in the Fall and plans to pursue a degree in Psychology.
