Forrest W. Barnes, III, has served on the RAASF Board for 4 years. As Vice-Chair, Forrest is an Ex-officio Board Member with oversight of all RAASF committees and serves as the liaison communicating the voice of the membership to the Board of Directors.
Forrest has more than 15 years of Information Technology experience with extensive qualifications in program and project management. Throughout his career, Forrest has held various technology roles in both the insurance and financial services industry as a Software Engineer, Applications Development Leader, E-Technology Program Leader, and IT Architect Leader at companies such as: Farmer's Insurance Group, GE Capital Auto Warranty Services and Genworth Financial.as In his current role as Corporate Information Technology Director at Genworth Financial, he directs the development, support and execution of all enterprise systems for Derivative, Hedging and Investment Accounting operations. He is accountable for the overall strategy planning, prioritization of technology acquisition required to support hedging, investment accounting and market reporting. Forrest is the recipient of the 2006 Compass Award which is the highest individual honor given by Genworth Financial that recognizes excellence in performance.
Forrest holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University and completed his Master of Science Degree in Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia.
