The Richmond African American Scholarship Fund (RAASF) is a non-profit endowment fund dedicated to promoting higher education in the Richmond African American community through collaborative corporate, individual, and community partnership.
The primary goal of RAASF is two-fold:
- First, to provide African American students in Richmond City high schools an opportunity to further their education at an accredited college or university.
- Second, to promote the City of Richmond as a place that RAASF college graduates would aspire to work.
The Richmond African American Scholarship Fund continues to develop strong ties with the Richmond Public School System. Its primary areas of focus are to promote the importance of higher education within the African American community by creating more educational opportunities through scholarship and to build a collaborative assembly of educational partners, corporations, individual sponsors, professional and community organizations.
The RAASF's membership is comprised of outstanding professionals in a variety of their respective fields and who represent several major corporations and organizations including: Genworth Financial, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Goldman Sachs & Co., and more. The RAASF seeks to expand its awareness, participation, and involvement in an effort to strengthen its impact throughout the Richmond community. Click here to learn more about the RAASF.
